Prep Time 5 minutes
Chill time 30 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 block 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried chives
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon whole-grain Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme*

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with whole-grain Dijon mustard, dried chives, parsley, thyme, garlic powder, lemon juice, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until the mixture achieves a smooth and creamy consistency. For expedited mixing, a food processor may be employed. Transfer the prepared spread into an airtight container and refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and develop fully.

Notes

The addition of thyme is optional; it complements the spread particularly well when served cold. However, if the cream cheese is intended for baked applications, such as in cowboy jalapeño poppers, it is advisable to omit thyme to avoid an overpowering flavor once heated.
